Indian River County has weather most people describe as paradise so who wants to shop?
Everyone!
Head west off the interstate and you will find an assortment of Outlet stores. Be advised, this is a terrific place to shop but doing so during an afternoon shower will call for an umbrella.There are awnings but they stop and start in front of each place of business leaving shoppers quite soggy.
Heading East from 95 on Route 60 and 66th street you will find the Indian River Mall and other plazas and stores. Further east at 58th Ave are more stores cluding Target, Super Walmart, and various furniture and electronic stores. Home Depot and Lowe’s are also quite close.
You may find plants and trees there or head to a local nursery. Rock City on north US1 will leave you in awe with its beauty and amazing selection of plants and helpful knowledge of the area. You might even catch a glimpse of an otter at the spring fed pond. Busy Bee has a fantastic selection of plants and pots and is also located on US1.Horizon Nurseries on Oslo Road just expanded and is sure to have something for you.
The old Vero Mall on US 1 and 12th street and has been lovingly renovated and is host to Tuesday Morning, Dockside Imports, Stein Mart and other scrumptious shopping indulgences.
Grocery stores are conveniently located throughout the county.
Miracle Mile on 21st Street east of US1 will give you another array of plazas including stores such as Anthony’s ,TJ MAXX and some specialty stores. Panera bread, Weiss Meats,Chicos and Carvel are at the Three Avenues along with GoldsmithTeam GMAC REAL Estate and GoldStar Mortgage.The three Avenues is where Indian River Boulevard,21st street andRoute 60 meet. A new steakhouse bears the name and locals and visitors can relax to the live music.
Don’t skip the beautiful Village Shops and all the wonderful boutiques along the beach, but do bring the sunscreen!
North Indian River County is growing so fast that Sebastian has new shopping centers furiously being built.
Continuing north beyond Sebastian will get you into Brevard County and the big city of Melbourne.Further south is St Lucie County with much to offer also.
Being an older, quaint community, Vero has the power to possess you with a vast array of downtown shopping and incredible Antique, Consignment and Thrift Stores. Don’t forget to take in an occasional garage or estate sale and of course an auction! Have fun.
